Abstract The Long-Term Health Impact of Genocide Evidence from Research Background: Millions are directly affected by mass violence and genocide. Genocide and organised violence are believed to have a harmful health impact on those who experience violence directly and indirectly. Further research and substantial knowledge on the direct and on the long-term health impact of genocide is of importance for Public Health and epidemiology. The acquisition of data on genocide requires special methods in order to evaluate immediate consequences and transgenerational impacts on health.
